The increase in the number of children and young people being identified with SEND, the lack of support services, and declining budgets in schools are having a massive impact on schools, SENCOs and families. At the time of this broadcast, the SENDAP Improvement Plan will have been in place for 12 months. Lorraine reviews its impact so far.
Lorraine has 25 years’ experience in mainstream and special school environments as a Teacher and Headteacher. She was also CEO of nasen, a charitable organisation supporting all those who work with children and young people with SEND. Lorraine now runs LPEC an educational consultancy dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, including those with mental health needs.
