Inspiration SEND Network Campfire: Developing your TA Workforce

6 June @ 16:30 - 17:30

This session is aimed at SENCOs and those who line-manage Teaching Assistants and is focussed on how leaders can aid support staff.

The Inspiration SEND Network are excited to offer this event around developing your Teaching Assistant workforce, taking place online on Tuesday 6th June 2023, 4.30-5.30pm. This virtual event will be held on Teams. The Teams link will be sent to you on the morning of the event.

This session is aimed at SENCOs and those who line-manage Teaching Assistants and is focussed on how leaders can support the professional development of support staff. CPD for Teaching Assistants is often limited by barriers such as their contracted hours or arranging cover for their absence (particularly if their role requires specific training for e.g. medical needs or intimate care) and a lack of CPD can often lead to staff members feeling under-valued and demotivated. Participants are invited to bring their experiences and ideas to the table at this interactive event, facilitated by an experienced SEND leader, with questions to prompt discussion. The session will not be recorded as it is designed to be a safe space in which participants can also ask advice in a supportive environment.

The event is free to attend.

Inspiration SEND Network exists to support the upskilling of Senior Leaders, SENCOs and SENCOs of the future. Supported by Teach First, Inspiration SEND Network strives to educate and empower those working with children with SEND in order to give leaders the knowledge and confidence to be able to lead and drive improvement in outcomes for children and young people with SEND. In addition to regular events we send out a fortnightly update with tips, topics and articles of interest. If you are not already a member of the network and would like to join, please complete this Google form: https://forms.gle/7B6isgTxTQRfmdAp9
